Support HENC

How can you support www.HomeEnergyNC.org? A coalition of nonprofit organizations that includes North Carolina Building Performance Association, North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and Duke University’s Carbon Offsets Initiative are seeking support for this website and a new nonprofit that will centralize and scale up home energy efficiency across North Carolina.  Here’s how: The Challenge Many North Carolina organizations support home energy efficiency, but they each have their own goals, angles, resources and focus in doing so.  The over-saturation of information and available programs these stakeholders provide can make it difficult for NC residents to know where to start when considering their options for improving their home’s energy efficiency. Centralizing content and directories provides another opportunity – centralizing administration for and using best practices from energy efficiency programs across the state helps decrease the overall cost of running programs and increase their impact. The Solution In the fall of 2014, North Carolina Building Performance Association (NCBPA) created www.HomeEnergyNC.org and formed partnerships with the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association (NCSEA), Duke University’s Carbon Offsets Initiative (DCOI), and Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) to increase support and value of the site. The website is intended to serve as North Carolina’s one-stop online portal for saving energy at home, providing a centralized, free, and unbiased resource with helpful information and tools to improve home energy efficiency. To manage this...
